Nocturnal Owls

The night is wild,
The owls are alive
Their eyes are wide,
In the quiet night sky.

The prey is asleep,
In the dark, they’re a heap,
The owls soar in a sweep,
To the squirrels, they creep.

They communicate with vibrations,
Around the food they will spin,
As silent as an evil grin,
The owls take one for the win.

After a feast, dawn breaks,
The prey’s family suffers with heartaches,
The long night requires a break,
And the owls will have their take.
